Gackt, born Gakuto Oshiro on July 4, 1973, is a prominent Japanese musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor. Starting in 1993 with the band Cains:Feel and later with Malice Mizer, Gackt began his solo career in 1999. With nine studio albums and forty-eight singles, he holds the male soloist record for most consecutive top-ten singles in Japanese music history.
Achieving chart success with “Returner (Yami no Shūen)” in 2007, Gackt has sold over 10 million records as a solo artist.
